Mann's RC (Ruskin, FL)

GT2-E

Geared up by two teeth on the motor, the Reedy 3300 sure is a torque-ie motor!!! Was able to stay with Bobby until I hit a pipe!!! He took the TQ and 1st, me 2nd was SWEEEET!!!!

XXX-S

Two weeks ago at "da Lube" motor came off 190 after a 6 minute main. So, two teeth smaller motor gear and set the motor timing back 8-10 degrees.

TQ'd and won* by 3 laps!!!

SC10GT-E

First time to race this RC on road. Put AE TC4 Blue springs front and rear, Stadium truck tires front and rear AND 1/4 inch spacers in the shocks (Front and rear), 1/2 inch spacers on the outside of the shocks.

At the track during practice, set the left front camber to 1 degree positive The left rears camber to 0 degrees. Before the main put a 1/4 inch preload spacer on the right front shock to load that corner more.

How did the SC10GT-E do, TQ'd both qual's and won the main by five laps!!!!! May race this next week in Jato class!!!!

*XXX-S in VTA class, BOTH of mine raced by me at the same time!!! How did I do this. Easy, sold the backup XXX-S with the 1970 Mustang body to Rob. He didn't have a transponder so I loaned him one of mine. I TQ'd both qual's and won the main, at the same time I (my other transponder) was finishing behind me in both qual's and main. The mains sheets showed Rob and I as Terrance I and Terrance II

To make things even more fun some day, I now have THREE transponders so I (transponders) could finish 1st, 2nd and 3rd!!!! :-)

SC10GT-E

Off road weekend, not sure if I want to race off road, thinking about possible rain!!

Tires from last month wasn't working during practice, track was to wet from the morning fog. Put Turbo Trac's on front and rear (think there "soft" compound). Worked well during the first qual, BUT not 100%!!!!!

Go for broke! JC Bar Codes (Gold) front and rear. NEVER had this tire setup ever on a RC! HOOKED UP!!! Could power into, thru and out of a turn like never before.

Qual'd 5th, finished 5th, thought I was higher up the group, then found out I had passed the same SC three times!!!!!! Well, it was upside down once!! :-)

Side note!

The effort to race one class in off road, is like 3 classes in on road. Pick the right tire tread, the right rubber compound, the right radio setting and the CLAY dust on everything!!!!

On road >>

VTA charge the battery then race.
Mod TC 32 or 36 tires charge battery then race.
Jato/Autocross charge battery then race.

Quaker Steak and Lube (Clearwater, FL)

NO TC class today, limiting myself to two classes, it's a mind thing. Plus a lot of battery charging!!

XXX-S

No problems, just tiny bits of tuning. One >> loosening the drive belt a bit to reduce belt/bearing load/drag. Cuda drove better during the A-main, enough to set fastest lap 13.9 sec!!! Finished 2nd.

GT2-E

First on road race for the GT2-E.
 
Race Control made a change to autocross class. 3 ramps, autocross is like Robby Gordon's Stadium Truck races!!!

How did this go >>>> Qual's same as the GT-E TQ'd both qual's and was in the lead for 10 laps (half the race, winner had 20 at the finish). Two turns before the timing loop for lap 11 GT2-E rolled to a stop! No power!!!! Moved the power wires and there was power BUT I'm two laps down. There is still time to maybe get into the top three. THEN I forgot about the front ramp, hit it at full speed, this killed a shock and the GT2-E was done for a 4th.

Took TQ and the win in VTA!!! Very easy to do was the ONLY VTA there!!!!!!!

TC4

Tires, TIRES, TIRES <<<<< a very BIG deal if you don't have the right compound AND there not NEW!!!!!!!

Didn't get the right tires on until the main AND didn't do my ritual >>> checking the axle nuts before getting on the track lost the left rear then the right rear!!!! Was able to hang on for a 3rd!

GT2-E

Changed to rear buggy tires on the front from 4wd buggy front tires and geared up two teeth on the pinion.

Missed TQ by .2 of a sec!!!! Was 10-15 foot behind TQ starting lap four, passing a back marker hit a pipe and took the right front link loose took six laps to fix, got one lap back for a 5th.
