7/21/13

FZRC (Sarasota, FL.)

Track was VERY damp, just like Farmers would get just before and during the mains on "Friday Nights Under the Lights".

GT2-E

Back in the day, when the T4 first came out some of us had T3's. To drive a T4 to it's limits you have to NOT drive the T3! With this remembrance I have decided to park the T4 for a while and just race the GT2-E.

Not enough ST's for a class but still got a good battery and a half ran through. the setup changes after the race at SS Hobbies and Raceway made the GT2-E just plain GREAT to drive!!! Hope to get some racn' in at SS next week.

One of the things about going to a track to race you ALWAYS >> ALWAYS meet up with friends you haven't seen in weeks, months or YEARS!!!!! Rob is one of those racers, we reconnected today. He still lost to me BUT we had great FUN. Next time I could be the loser!!!!

SC10

The only change to the SC10 for the first qual was the addition of one washer under each ball stud on the front shock tower, to raise the link up to change the front roll, hoped for better cornering. TQ that qual and the next two as well.

Put a set of JConcepts Double D's front and rear, after a application of Simple Green was ready to go. At the tone, lead to the first turn, GOOD so far right :-), nosed into the turn pipe and everyone got by me so it was a a GOOD thing it was a 8 minute main. Rob thought he had it made with about a half lap lead, as I worked my way past the racers between us. Then, Rob's esc OR motor decided to stop, we are thinking it maybe reading a overheat and shutting off. A turn marshal got it turned off and turned back on just after I got by to put him a lap down!!!

We will see next week at SS if this problem can lead to me winning again!!!! :-)

SC10

Took the T4 and GT2-E as parts RC's if needed.

The only setup change(s) where before the 2nd qual and the A-main.

2nd Qual, changed the front top shock mount to the inner hole, had a push in the 1st qual that wasn't there last week. The push was gone bit now the rear was a touch loose.

The main, moved the top rear shocks in one hole.

There wasn't enough PRO's signed up for Pro SC so they put them in Mod SC but scored them separately. Qual 3rd overall but 2nd in Mod SC. The Pro passed me at the 7 minute mark of 8 minute main. 1st in Mod SC passed me on the last lap.

Was a SWEEEEEEEET 2nd!!!

7/7/2013 SS Hobbies & Raceway (Tampa,FL.)


 GT2-SC

Ran a FULL tank thought during practice, Sure was SWEEEEET to hear the PICCO .12 running full tilt!!!Then I seen the the other racers in Mod SC! Put the GT2-SC back in the trunk! :-)

SC10

After 10 minutes of practice, decided that a tire change was needed. Moved the new-ish Proline M3 Calibers  from the rear to the front and put a set of JConcepts Green Subcultures on the rear. These were better at parts of the track and worse at others than the Calibers. So out came the Simple Green bottle, Gave the front and rear tires a coat than after they dried another coat. That fixed it! TQ'd the 2nd qual by a 1/2 sec. Didn't have time to enjoy the TQ, was they were calling the ST class to the line for their 2nd qual.

GT2-E

Had planed to race the GT2-E in ST class then Andy put his T4.2 on the track!!!! Andy is one of the racers from Farmers that I have NEVER beat!!!! Out came the T4!!!!

T4

Put the tires from the GT2-E on the T4, they were the newest that I have. Andy put it to me in both qual!! So I'm starting in 2nd.

Then the RAIN came!!!! :-)

Why am I  >> :-)  Cause the RAIN will put TRACTION in the track!!

Mains

SC10

The racer in 2nd, as we were waiting for "Da Tone" said he would hold the pack back until I got through the first turn. He sure did, by the time I crossed the timing line I had a 1/2 lap lead on 2nd at the four minute mark I was 2nd, by the 5 minute mark I was 1st and 2nd NEVER got close!!!

T4

As we lined up Andy stepped aside and let his son race his T4.2. Was the WRONG thing to do for the first five minutes of the main. He over powered the track as he came across the timing line as we started the main and nosed into the pipe and I WAS GONE!!!! At the two minutes to go call, I told him he had two minutes to catch me he did in ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Made a crazed shot at the line to beat him and ended up off the track BUT did closed the gap to .4 sec!!

Next week 7/13/13 Big Ele only race at SS, I'm thinking I'm READY to WIN!!!!!!!
