FIRCC

GREAT night of racn'!!!!!!!!!!!!

Had planed to race the J82 buggy, after the first qual, changed it over to the T4!!!!

90% of a setup is TIRES!!! Both rear sets that I have (for the J82) are over 50% worn out!

Broke the servo just before the start of qual #2, got on the track 1 lap down, never looked to see how far down I was at the end of the 6 minute main.

Started 5th in the 10 minute main finished 5th, 4th lapped me 2 times best I could count!!

De$troyed the diff in the Lo$i XXX-S$T again!!!!!!!!!!!

Have raced Associated Electric (AE) for 7 years and have NEVER had thi$ kind of problem$ with their diff'$!!!!!!

7/26/2011

Made some changes to the race fleet! :-)

Losi XXX-SCT

Changed ESC and motor to Castle Sidewinder SCT and Ezrun 9.0 motor, replaced the 13.5mm stock rotor with 12.5mm Speed Passion rotor. WAY FAST!!!!!!!!!!! Mod SC class should be fun!!!!!

Associated SC10

Now has a Castle Sidewinder esc and a Fantom 17.5 motor. This was done so I can race the SC10 in Stock SC class.

Associated T4

Removed the Novak Dually ESC and Trinity Cobalt 27 brush motor, replace them with the Speed Passion GT1.1 ESC and Speed Passion 10.5 brushless motor. This is the FAST-est setup EVER in the T4 this year!!!

Have a J82 kit!

The JConcepts J82 - Converts RC10T4 truck to 1/8th 2wd electric buggy! <<< YES!!!

Change to the J82 body (with wing), front and rear wheels you have a BUGGY to race.
A VERY GOOD race buggy!! :-)

Man I thought I had posted about 7/22/2011!!!!!!!!!!!!

FIRCC 7/22/2011

Seven EX-Farmers racers showed up to race tonight!! SWEEET!!!! :-)

Had the Castle Sidewinder SCT esc and Speed Passion 10.5 motor in the Losi XXX-SCT. JUST WOULD NOT TURN!!!! Did ALL the normal adjustment that I would normally do NOthing worked.

Got the SC10 out and it TURNED WORSE!!!!

Was I bummed!!!

As I sat looking at the XXX-SCT and SC10 I noticed that they where setup differently! So, I changed the Losi just the opposite that I had been doing. Moved the front shocks out at the top BINGO!!! :-)

Made the A-main started 5th and finished 5th ONLY one lap down to 1-3 places.

7/15/11

FIRCC (Plant City)

GREAT "DRY" night of racn'. 5 new racers to the track. 3 first time EVER to race.

Losi XXX-SCT

Removed the 17.5 motor and Speed Passion ESC, replaced them with a Speed Passion 10.5 motor and a Castle Sidewinder ESC. Was thinking I needed MORE power. Still didn't make the A-main, did TQ the B-main and after 10 laps (was in 4th most of those) was able to get past everyone to finish 1st after 20 laps!!!

Associated SC10

Replace the Speed Passion 10.5 motor and a Castle Sidewinder ESC, that I put in the XXX-SCT with a LRP X11 7.5 motor and a Castle Sidewinder SCT ESC. WAY TO MUCH POWER!!! Just would NOT turn. BUT may just be the setup for FZRC (Sarasota) or Yupers (Lakeland).

7/10/11

Losi XXX-SCT
As I was standing on the drivers stand, for the Stock SC class, I looked over my left shoulder and watched 5 KIDS place their SC's on to the track and come on to the drivers stand!!!!!!! As I was beginning to step down and go change to Mod SC class a ADULT stepped on to the drivers stand! TQ'd both qual's and finished 1st, 2 laps ahead of the other ADULT, in Stock SC.

Race director called me out just before the start of the main. Said I should start last to give the KIDS a even chance. Moved to the rear of the start order, by turn 5 was in 3rd, by turn 6 was in 2nd, by the start/finish line was in 1st. Drove through the pack, started in 7th, in one lap.

Looking to change to Mod SC next race!

RC10T4
Pinion gear came loose during both qual's in Stadium Truck class. So I qual'd 4th. During the main, going into turn 4 about 3 inches behind Max in 1st, 3rd hit the T4 in the left rear and knocked the top link loose, after I got the T4 and rear axle from the turn marshal, walked over to the pits. Put the bits back together and was back in the action 5 laps down!!!

There was enough time to get two laps back!!! So I finished in 4th down by three laps!!! Told Max (in 1st) that I had nothing to lose as I'm 5 laps down so stay out of my way! Wanted Max to know I wasn't going to be nice (passing anyone) making up laps.

7/8/11

FIRCC (Plant City)

FYI FIRCC does NOT use a "Bump Up" racing. "Bump Up" is when there is more than one main per class and the top two finishers "Bump Up" to the next main!

20 SC entries makes for 3 main! I was TQ in the B-main and lead from the tone!!! :-)
My over all (laps in 6 minutes) would have place me finishing 6th in the A-main! :-)

One racer left before the start of the mains AND IF I had known that I would have asked for a A-main start position!! BUT the race director DIDN'T know until the A-main.

A racer in ST class broke his truck, didn't have the part to fix his truck. The T4 was just sitting there, under the pit table. :-) He got one and a half lap in before the steering servo broke! :-(

FZRC

Stock SC >>> Losi XXX-SCT



Decided to use ONLY the "Peak Racing" 4800 (got it used off R/C Tech) pack as power for the day. That was the only change from what was used 4 weeks ago. TQ'd all 3 qual and won the 8 minute main by a lap!!!! Sweeeet!!!!


Stadium Truck >>> Associated RC10T4



TQ'd the 2nd qual and lead most of the 8 minute main, lost the lead on the next to the last lap and was pushing the leader into the next to last turn and hit a pipe!!! Finished 2nd by 2 sec!!! The T4 was the ONLY BRUSHED motored truck in the class!!!!!

While on the drivers stand during practice I met James, during the day we became friends. As it was he's 2nd race ever, I seen he could benefit from some mentoring. :-) James was seeing improvements, in his cars and driving, through the day of racn'. After the racn' was done we got together and had "race driving" classes :-)!!!!

We are doing again 7/24 at FZRC!!!

7/1/11

FIRCC

Wanted to race the T4-LL BUT broken front a-arm ended that want! A T4-LL is a T4 with lipo battery power, a new-ish thing Jan 2009. Lipo batteries were/are lighter than the NiHM batteries that we were using then. Lighter weight shock oils and spring rates where tried at CRCRC in Ohio by the AE team drivers and they won EVERYTHING!!!!!

Because of the a-arm problem I raced the SC10 in SC class made the A-main, missed 6th place by a few seconds because I crashed and a ssssllllloooooowwwwww marshal who had to to take three steps to the SC10!!!!!

Thinking the Losi XXX-SCT have proved that the diff can take the power, so I may put a faster motor in for MOD SC class soon.

6/24-25/11

Wasn't interested in racing Fri (24) night at the carpet track. Last time I went spent over an hour on I4 because of a wreck, normally it's only 20 minutes!!!!

RAINED enough to not go to Yopers RC to race.
