TQ'd the first qual BUT just as I walked on to the drivers stand Alan called me by name and said "Hi" just to let me know he was there!!!!!!!!

Finished 2nd in the main behind Alan!!!!!! :-)

SC10

Just could not get this thing to work, tried almost every rear tire I had with me and just could NOT power out of the turns!!!! 

The best of what I had was JConcepts Goosebumps!!!!!! Haven't used this tread in over 2 years!!!! Last time was at Farmers Hobby and Raceway!!!

Finished 3rd!!!

Side bit after I got home found I had the front shocks in the wrong top mount hole for SS track!!! This was causing the rear to rotate to quickly coming out of a corner. <<< reason I couldn't power OUT OF A TURN!!!

SC10

Arrived about 7am, the tracks lighting was on, first time for me to see the track under lights!!!

Track was a bit damp from the night dew, by the first qual the GROOVE started to develop.

Started with Proline M3 Calibers front and rear, good enough for 3rd. BUT I wanted a better starting grid place. JConcepts "Gold" Double Deeson the front and JConcepts "Blue" Subcultures on the rear and I was ready for qual #2. During a warm up lap, the left rear a-arm came a part BIG time, spent the 8 minute qual in the pits rebuilding the rear of the SC10.

A few months ago, I had put a alm rear a-arm mount on the SC10. As I was repairing the broken a-arm found the alm mount was broke also!!!!!!! AND was twisted!!! Changed to a stock plastic mount, after a treatment of Red Dot to the tires, was ready for the 8 minute a main.

Go at the tone!!!

Crossed the line in 3rd just as I started, for lap one. Jumped over #2 in the front triple for second and was watching first pull away, lap two!! Then he piped it (lap 5), and I was by him, we both were running the same line before his pipe problem. He was on me for a lap then piped again two laps later he was on me again and piped it. Now I'm sure I had a big enough lead, that he would NEVER catch me. ONE lap later he was on me!!! After nine laps in the lead I miss landed coming over the cross-over, went wide into the corner and he passed me on the inside of the turn.

Even tho he got by I felt good, during those 9 laps we had lapped the rest of the racers!! Ken passed me for the lead at lap 14 of the 26 laps he had, then PASSED me again on lap 24!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We were talking after the race (I knew I knew him from some place but couldn't place him), asked him if he had raced the first race (two months ago) of the series. He had, he beat me at that race also!!!!! But he ONLY passed me once two turns before the finish at SS Raceway and Hobbies!!!!!!

In 2nd place for the series with one more race to run. Yupers in Winterheaven is next, then it's TROPHY TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

TQ'd the first qual, then it went down hill!!! Just would not hookup to the track. Finished 4th, with 5th on my heels!!!!!!!!!

SC10

NEVER got the SC10 to hookup to the track. Ran out of tire options!!!!! Luck to stay in front of 5th!!!!

NITRO CLASS :-)

SC10GT

Did not qual this car, the girls (announcers) were calling all nitro racers to signup for the NITRO CLASS main. Asked if I could race my nitro SC with the 1/8 buggies?

10 minutes of SWEEEEEET NITRO JOY!!! Haven't raced with just nitro cars since Jan 2011.

Finished 4th out of 5. DID NOT beat him he broke!! Still SWEEEEET!!!!!!!!!!

Marty got his version of a E-Z-UP done over the track, this week.

About 30 minutes after I got to the track R*** started, lasted about 10 minutes!

There were 4 leaks in the E-Z-UP, NONE on the race line of the track!!!!

Not enough racers showed (R***?????) to have a race, so it was a test-n-tune day for the racers that did show up.

Was at the track by 8 am, left around 2:30 pm, the track was the same "GREAT" when I left as it was for the first lap of the day!!!

First racer there!!! :-) Hoped that was a GOOD thing!!!!

Because the mains were rained out last Sunday, had a FREE race (one class) do me!

SC class,

SC10GT

Every time this starts up, I get memorizes of the GOOD Old Days of Gas Truck racing!!

1st qual, was in 1st until I was 3 turns from the timing line. Missed landing a jump and Mike got by!!!

SC10

2nd qual, drove my tail off for a 4th!!!!


SC Main

Was in 2nd after going over the table top, then started missing jumps!! Was able to get within five foot of Mike before the end for a 4th.

Stadium Truck class,

Put the Speed Passion GT2 LPF esc and LRP X11 7.5 motor in the T4 for today. Qual'd in 2nd, keep that at the tone for about a lap and a half then Kenny got by as I missed another jump. As I was catching Kenny, Alan broke, so I was in 2nd, now to pass Kenny!!!

Took two more minutes to get by Kenny, couldn't just bully him out of the way, he is the younger son of the TRACK OWNER!!! Just stayed about a foot behind him for two/three laps. Then he nosed a pipe and I was gone!!!!!

Planned to race the SC10 or the SC10GT in SC class and the GT2-E in ST class.

Bump box, one of the lipo's developed a bad cell so the SC10GT was put away. :-(

The GT2-E threw a MIP pin, didn't have any extra's so that got put away and the T4 came out!

Had two GREAT qual's, the TQ racer didn't get the TQ by much!

SC10

Same as the T4, but had the TQ in the 2nd qual until I landed a jump wrong!!!!

Just after they posted the mains sheet it started to

RAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For over 30 minutes. <<< Racing is done for the day!!!!

So they used the qual's placing as the finish position today.

2nd in SC and 2nd in ST!!!

Hoped to race ST class today. I'm the only ST there. :-(

GT2SC

New metal diff gear, CORRECT slipper setting made for one SWEEEET NITRO SC!!!

Updated the slipper from V1 to V2 last October (2012) but didn't change the slipper setting. Had the setting 2 and a half turns to tight!!!!!!!!! This one small bit may be the reason I was killing the idler gear(s).

Race the GT2SC in the 2nd qual was only 14 sec slower than the 1st qual with the SC10 for 16 laps!!

SC10

First race with the new 120 amp Hobbywing esc worked on getting the throttle settings on the radio. This esc is a very smooth, no jerky throttle!!

This is the 2nd track with the alm steering linkage, steering is so much better for the SC10, can round corners within a couple inches of the pipes.

TQ'd the 1st qual, got beat in the 3rd qual.

8 MINUTE MAIN!!!! This is going to be SWEEEEEEET!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just as we were getting go at the tone in 5, I told Steven that this is RACING not qualifying!!!

Eased into the throttle at the tone and was in first before the first turn and was driving away for two laps, then missed landing a jump and Steve was on me. We rubbed finders for three laps, then I missed landed another jump and Steve was in the lead and I never got close again!!!

One of the reason I was at SS on a Sat night, I seen that Steve had been there two weeks earlier. Steve is a Team Holy Rollers member that I had lost contact with after Lil' Dover closed.
