Mann's did a redesign of their on road track.

SC5M

2wd SC was raced on the oval part of the new layout.

TQ'd first qual, 2nd in 2nd qual, still had TQ by a lap.

Chose the inside start position for the main, got away clean into turn one. No problems in the lead until back markers got in the way. At times was in 3rd, then back markers got in the way of 1st and 2nd!!!!

 They finished 2nd and 3rd behind the SC5M.

Spec-R S2

VTA was raced on the road course, qual'd 3rd. Was a foot behind 1st for a lap. Looking for a opening when I got to close to a pipe in a turn, started lap two in last!!!!

By mid race was in 2nd looking for 1st!!! But ran out of time.

OFF ROAD Saturday!!!!!  :-)

SC5M

The only change from 2 weeks ago, was the move of the Transponder farther forward about 2 inches!

TQ'd 1st qual. Lead 18 of 23 laps. Back marker put me into a pipe then as I tried to get by 1st, stuffed it into a pipe!!!! And Rob got by!!! Made up all but .727 sec's for a 3rd to Jason and Rob.

TQ'd both qual's and drove away for the win!!!!!

Two weeks ago Rob drove my SC5M and wished his Slash drove like that!!!

RC Wish mod'd the Proline Sash chassis from rear motor to mid motor. Plus a few other bits.

Results >>> Rob went from finishing, normally 1 or more laps behind me, to 1.003 sec's in front of me!!!!!!

RC Wish also had a look at Rob's AE Prolite SC RC. Offered some setup changes and chassis mod's. Rob liked them for the first qual, made one adjustment to the front ride height for 2nd qual and he was ready for the main.

Result >>> WON the main!!!!

Rob said "we racing off road next week pick you up about 8:30"!!!!! Last week during the 3rd Annual Shriners race.

TQ'd both qual's and had a 1/3 lap lead on 2nd with 3 laps to go, when a back marker put me into a pipe!!!

Made up the lead Johnny had on me. BUT still lost by  >>>>>> point 081 of a sec!

That's 8 hundredth of a sec. Now that's CLOSE!!!!!

Track isn't high grip blue groove like many of the tracks I race on, so the ONLY rear motor racer that I own was prepped.

TQ'd and WON!!!

 3rd Annual Shriners Benefit Race

ALL $$$$$ go to Shriner's!!!!

Last race this thing was total JUNK!

Got the setup out from last years Shriners's race (TQ'd both qual's and won that race).

Had bits of GREATNESS, but needed 6 minutes.

Qual'd 3rd and finished 3rd BUT >>>> 1st and 2nd NEVER lapped me!!!!!!  :-)

During practice this thing PUSHED in the corners like a dump truck!!!!

Changed >> camber, link position, link length, ride height (lowered the front raise the rear).

Last resort changed front tires! Any racer worth their weight in CA knows tires are 90% of a setup.

Changed everything back to start positions but keep the front tire change!!!!

TQ'd both qual's and won the main!!!!

The Shriner's had a 50/50 drawing, had the $20 ticket, gave the $20 back to the Shriner's!!!

We wanted to see some GREAT fall colors to finish the year.

SO >>>>> Back to the Smokies for some fall colors.

The Smokies haven't gotten the rain needed to ensure moisture in the leaves for good color change and the temps have been in the 70-80's. So, many leaves are heat burnt brown. Along the rivers and creeks the trees have fair colors, but the temps are still to high for good colors. We are not happy!! :-(

Wed, went to Gatlinburg Mountain Coaster for a ride. Haven't rode a coaster of any kind since I was 14-15 years old. At 66 wasn't sure if coaster riding was a smart thing for me to do. Had planned to ride and still planning to ride the coasters at Dollywood.

Coaster ride NO PROBLEM!!!!

Gena and I took a drive Thursday into the Smokies planning to go into North Carolina to some overlooks on the south side of the mountains.

===

After we got back from our Smokies visit, Clif and Joy joined us to go to the Island in Pigeon Forge to ride da' Wheel and watch the water fountain show.

===

Surprised Gena with a run to west TN to be with her youngest daughters and hers birthday, they are just a few days apart. Great weekend!!!

===

Left 5:15am CST Monday, home 6:30pm EST.

Long drive, our bed, our pillows, our pets. Priceless!!!

Looking to our next visit to west TN and east TN!!!!

Great time with family!!! 

A day run to Shiloh Civil War National Park. Have never seen so many cannon's in my life.

On our way to Dad and Mom's in IL, we stopped in Metropolis, IL to see Ft Massac a pre-revolutionary war fort (1757-1764). Lewis and Clark stopped at this fort in 1803 to recruit members for the Corps of Discovery.

We stopped and seen the Superman statue also.  :-)

A GREAT few days with Dad, Mom, Sis and Bro. IL looked good!!!!

We traveled through 9 states, on the journey!

Changed from 4 gear to 3 gear trans. These are suppose to be better. We'll see!!!!

While the trans was apart did the "Fast" stock upgrade to the bearings. Remove the inner race seal on each bearing (6 bearings) to reduce drag.

Changed to a different brand of shorty lipo. This lipo about a 1/16 inch shorter in height and about 1/16 inch narrower than the shorty I was using... Now can move the lipo back into the waterfall brace about 3/16 to 1/4 inch, another tuning option.
