FZRC (Sarasota, FL)

New Years Eve NITRO race!!!!!!

Planned to race the SC10GT.

Had one of the most FUN NITRO racn' in some time!!! Qual in 3rd for the main and finished 3rd after 8 minutes of FUN main racn'!!!!! 1st and 2nd were electric powered!!

Max, the son of the owner of FZRC girlfriend and I were talking as he worked on his Losi 22, he wasn't happy with how it was running. As we talked he found the motor wasn't well!! He put another motor in just before his qual. The buggy didn't run well at all! Just before the 2nd qual, I asked if he got the buggy fix, he said no. I offered the B4.1. He finished the 2nd qual well enough for 2nd start position for the main.

By the end of lap one he was in the lead, kept the lead to the point he was just 10 to 12 feet from lapping 2nd at the end of the race. Not bad for a LOANER RC!!!!

FZRC (Sarasota, FL)

FZ - SS race series. Two tracks four races, one a month for fours months.

T4

Had the TQ in the first qual by over a lap!!! Broke a MIP axle in the second qual.

GO at the tone! Jumped by TQ into first and powered away as 2nd and 3rd got into each others way!!!! THEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just after minute 3 I heard that sound I didn't want to hear. A loose slipper!!!!!!!!!!!!! For the next 5 minutes I watched 2nd get closer and closer, until he passed me. Last lap three turns to go and I touched a pipe, which broke a rear link and 3rd got by me!!!

SS Hobby and Raceway next month!

SS Hobbies and Raceway (Tampa, FL.)

NITRO!!!!!! NOT!!!!! GT2-SC would not start!!!!!

SC10

Started out with HPI Magabites front and rear, switched to JConcepts Double D's on the rear and I'm ready!!! Finished 3rd!

B4.1

Losi on the rear and Jconcepts bar codes on the front, changed to Proline Scrubs front and Turbo Traxs on the rear. Finished 7th!

T2

Had planed to race the T4 have a new Brushless Hobbies ESC BUT I left it at home!!!!! So, raced the T2 instead. Had ONLY planed to do some track testing for fun, only had a 17.5 in it. Had the lead for about half the race, then the 1st place racer quit hitting pipes, was about 100 foot from the finish in 2nd when the motor melted!!!!! Finished 3rd!!

SS Hobbies and Raceway (Tampa, FL)


GT2-SC

Planned to race Nitro SC with the GT2-SC, tossed two MIP pins during the 1st qual!!!!


SC10

Out came the SC10 with 2 minutes to go. Changed rear tires from NONE to some!!! Put a transponder in and was on the track with a minute to go!! Was enough to know WRONG rear tires!!

Da' Main!! Part of the pack took out 1st, 2nd and 3rd out before we crossed the start line!!!! Was in 1st at turn one, the rest of the pack took me out!!! Finished 3rd after a very hard 8 minutes of racn'!!!!!


T4

What can be said TQ'd and finished 1st. Finished two laps up on 2nd!!


B4.1

First qual Rib fronts and Losi silvers on the back. NOT good!!!

Second qual Scrubs on the front and Losi silvers on the rear much better!!

Main Scrubs front and Hole Shots rear go at the tone from 2nd start position.

Went from 2nd to last in turn one <<< I'm beginning to NOT like turn one!!!

Took 5 of the 8 minute main to get to 4th, finished on the same lap as 3rd just over a half a lap behind him!!

FZRC (Sarasota, FL)

Got a B4.1 buggy last week at SS Hobbies and Raceway in Tampa, FL. 

Put some ball bearing in the steering, some Proline Scrubs on the front and super soft VP Pros Turbo Trax on the rear.

Qual's were NOT so good dogbone first qual and front steering hub in the second!!!

Put Red Dot tire sauce on and I'm ready for some FAST racing!!

Lap three, I was comfortable with the setup that the front triple became a single (was the only racer doing this), was having some GREAT fun. Haven't raced 1/10 2wd buggy since 2009!!!

With two laps to go and the right dogbone came loose again!!! Have CVD's on order, hope they will be here in time to race at SS this coming Sunday. Finished 6th!

Cole was there again so I offered the SC10 to him to race in Mod SC. He gave Bruce a good run, but Bruce finished in front. Cole got a 2nd in his first SC race!

SS Hobbies and Raceway (Tampa, FL)

Planned to race the T4 and GT2-SC today, did bring the SC10 just in case.

T4

Between the 1st and 2nd qual's checked to see if the sensor side bearing was ok, oiled it a couple weeks ago and the noise was back. It was bad, as I was checking to see if I had one. Found that the wheel bearing for a AE RC was the same size!!!

I didn't think that the bearing change would make a BIG diff until I did a hot lap before the 2nd qual. There is a triple jump that I had been doing a single - single on, as I power down the lane I just didn't back off, landed at the base of the third jump! SWEEEEET!!!

Go at the tone, over the triple for the 2nd lap and both rear tire came off the rims and the T4 landed 10 feet past the third jump!!!!!!!! Guess I need to turn the radio down!

Lap 3 as I went to pass a back marker hit a pipe and removed the right rear a-arm!! I'm done, for a 5th.

GT2-SC

Lets just get to the fun!!! POWER Wheelies the 2nd half of the front straight!!! The WOWS!! were great to hear!! The GT2-SC jumped, turned and powered out of the turns just SWEEEEET!!

Da' Main!! Got ran over in turn one! Was about 20 foot behind 1st by lap three, got that down to 5 by lap 6. Then a MIP cvd pin left the known universe from the right axle!!! Finished 6th.

Had a GREAT day of racn'!!!

SC10

Set the front shocks and steering arm to FZ spec's and TQ'd both qual!!!

At the tone Pedro and I tried to out run each other to turn 1, Pedro won and drove away for the win!!!

Now for the REAL fun!!!

Donated the use of my T4 to a novice racer for the day. To watch one of my RC's jump, turn and run down a straight from someplace other than then drivers stand is just SWEEEET! The kid TQ'd and finished 2nd after a rear shock came loose!!!
