Added a new track to my repertory!!!

The MOST technical track I've ever raced on!

Losi XXX-SCT

First time on a "Tec" track and the Losi wasn't doing the job! BUT, I was signed up for 17.5 SC class and wasn't going to change the SC10 to 17.5

Track wasn't "Blue Groove" but was HIGH traction, had way to much turning. Motor had to much heat and no power. Was just right last Sat at FZRC, a diff day and a diff track! :-)

Moved the front shock tops out a hole and re-timed the motor to 0 degrees. By the end of the 2nd qual I was in 8th. Waiting for my A-main, I decided to move the front hubs down one washer (.030 thick), was looking at the motor and noticed that I had timed the motor to the - side of center a week ago!!!! Set the timing to +10 and NOW the power is there and after 6 minute A-main the temp was 146! <<<< that temp is just SWEEEET!!!

With the front change and the NEW power it took three laps to learn how to drive the Losi. Only 1st and 2nd got by me!!! Started 8th finished 7th NOT bad for racn' on a new track with it's new demands!!

SC10

Just a bit of test/tune had a Speed Passion Exige 2.0 esc and Speed Passion sport motor that I had changed rotors in. About lap five the rotor blew up!!!!!

XXX-SCT >>> Stock SC class

Received a new (used) Fantom Ion2 17.5 motor that is based on a Team Trinity motor blank. Had the timing set at "0" motor seemed OK. After talking with some racers about how to setup the esc for "Blinky" mode*. Had also received a Speed Passion LCD program box, this makes changing to "Blinky" very easy.

Raced the first qual with "0" motor timing, after the pinion came loose during the 2nd warm up lap, got on to the track about a minute after the start of the qual. Still was able to qual in 4th of 7 racers. Missed 3rd by 2-3 seconds!!!

Bumped the motor timing up about 10 degrees for the 2nd qual. Finished in 2nd which is good enough to start in 2nd for the main. Motor temps were good enough to bump the motor timing to the MAX!!!

Was in 2nd for most of the A-main, BUT Mike made up the distance by the five minute mark and it took him three laps to get around me (I touched another racer as we both pasted him).

* "Blinky" mode is NO timing advance on the ESC, No turbo, boost OR what ever you want to call it.

It's 99.999999% I will be racing at a new track for me. It's called Newred in Ocala, FL. I'm to meet with Mike Sage at 9am in Tampa and ride with him the rest of the way. Tampa is about half way, Ocala is about 100 miles from my house. Already have a page made for T3T4 Web Service's web site for my visit at Newred. :-)

Found a guy selling a Leopard esc and 3300 motor on ebay, won it for $2.50 plus shipping. He stated the magnet on the rotor was loose, I have two rotors that will work. The esc didn't work, put a fan on it, new power wires, have another working esc / motor! :-)

Put a new rotor in the Speed Passion sport motor, hope the winding in the motor are still OK. Hope to test this Monday after work.

Losi XXX-SCT (Stock SC class)

Track was a touch damp from the nights dew. But traction was GREAT during practice, that qual's AND the race! Between 1st and 2nd qual, I had a close look at how the Losi was setup compared to how it was handling. Had a touch to much turn in on the 180 turns, removed 1/2 oz of weight from the steering camber. BINGO!!! Very neutral steering. Finished 3rd in the 8 minute A-main!! :-)

AE SC10 (Mod SC class)

First five laps, of practice, the SC10 was GREAT, then I started to push it to get better lap times, just could not keep the turns tight! Between the 1st and 2nd qual's I put the 1/2 oz of weight from the Losi in the front steering area of the SC10 BINGO!!!! SWEEET balance in the turns. On lap 9 of the Mod SC A-main the steering servo froze up, finished 8th. :-(

Rebuilt the servo, bearings where dry, in need of some grease. Hope I don't have to buy another $50 servo!!!!!!!!!!

My brother Rick had shared with me that he had put a set of shocks from a Losi gas truck on his SC10 and this was a GREAT improvement in landing and cornering. The only Losi shocks that I have are on the XXX-SCT so I put Losi #56 (red) piston in the SC10 shocks. The truck sure landed and turned smoother. Have ordered a set of #55 (orange) pistons for the SC10 front shocks, as these are what comes in the gas truck front shocks.

Short Course King Money race!

Tested the Losi XXX-SCT, had rebuilt the diff, to make sure it was ready to race!

SC10

After the diff rebuild, it got tail happy!!!! Which means the rear was turning better than the front. Moved the battery to the full back position and put another .030 washer in each front shock.

So what was the out come. 2nd place in the B-main, which put me into the A-main!!!! :-)

Finished 6th in the A-main 4 places out of the $$$$$$.

SC10

As I cleaned the SC10 after two days of hard racing. I noticed that the diff was notchy!! Out it came and in went the trans from the T4 which I had just rebuilt two weeks ago and haven't raced it yet. Will have to learn to drive it Sat, had been having a hard time getting the SC10 to turn the same at every corner. A notchy diff will cause that!

Ordered diff parts to rebuild the SC10 diff so I can put the T4 trans back in the T4.

Because of what I found with the SC10, the Losi XXX-SCT got a diff rebuild. If you remember, I got a metal diff gear about four weeks ago and haven't checked it. Now it's SMMOOOTH again!

Day 2 of 2 :-)

Did NOT even bother to get the Losi XXX-SCT out. Had planned to race in Stock SC, hoped the setup and tires would work one more day! Did NOT!!!!! :-(

Got my NEW front tires and NEW-est rear tires out, moved the battery forward 1/4 pad. Qual'd 6th finished 5th.

During the Mod SC A-main, I turned to marshal two SC's and fell, didn't pick my legs up enough to clear the pipe. I did look COOL as I fell and crawled over to up right the SC's!!!

Day 1 of a 2 race day weekend.

Stock Short Course, planed to race the SC10 both days. Track was GREAT, racing was GREAT, 4 Mod SC racers decided to join in on the fun in Stock SC. Drove my heart out and finished 5th! Right where I qualified!

Paul decided to NOT race his Losi 4wd SC in the A-main for that class. He offered the ride to me! :-) As I had not qualified in that class I started in last (8th) place to be fair (my idea) to the other racers. I have NEVER drove OR raced a Ele 4wd SC in my life. Paul has the new Castle Mumba Max 4 pole system in the Losi, this is faster in a straight line than I can turn my head to drive it!!! Finished 6th :-)

Day two starts at 9:15am for signup.

New (used) Gens ACE 5000 Lipo was on my desk when I got home from today's racing. Will charge this tomorrow for the days racing.

Played with the T4 with the 17.5 system, like the 13.5 system better!!!!

XXX-SCT

Received a Speed Passion Exige 2.0 with a 3600kv motor for "Make a RC Wish", so :-) I didn't like the power of the 3600 motor, removed the 13.5mm rotor and installed a 12.5mm rotor. Now it's stupid FAST!!!!

Hit a pipe ripped the left front a-arm off* FZRC had a set! :-)

SC10

Was testing the SC10 with the Castle system installed, trying to decide which SC to race Mod SC class with. Mike a fellow racer, asked me to drive his 17.5 blinky Stock SC SC10 for a few laps. WRONG thing to do!!!! It drove BETTER than mine, off came the body and a look at the chassis. Started changing mine to fit his setup one bit at a time. After three changes my SC10 was a good as his! :-)

Then Mike let it slip, he is using Ryan Mayfield setup for clay bluegroove! :-) Downloaded it from rc10.com

* I have a large supply of right front and rear a-arms cause I rip the left side off of any RC I drive!!!!!! :-( Most of the tracks I race at race counter-clock wise and have a long front straight before the first left turn! :-)

Losi XXX-SCT

Had put the Speed Passion GT2.0 esc and EzRun 17.5 motor from the SC10 in. Did a little test and tune this morning. Changed front and rear spring up one size, hoping to handle the new jumps.

Stock Short Course

TQ'd 1st and 2nd qual, in the 2nd qual I had two laps on the next racer! :-)

Decided to NOT lap everyone in the main, still had the fastest lap of the day in Stock SC class.

I have GOT to remember to post results here!!!!!

They blended Stock and Mod SC together. I was the ONLY Stock SC (without boost). Finished 6th in the first qual with the Losi XXX-SCT. :-(

Raced the SC10 in the 2nd and 3rd qual. The Novak 13.5 was still under powered compared to the other cars. Was able to qual for a 4th starting spot for the main. Was in 2nd for 6 of the 8 minutes :-) About 90 sec to go the racer who did finish 2nd passed me.

The SC10 handled GREAT even with the power of the 13.5, remember last week, finished 1st and lapped ALL the other cars with a 17.5 motor in.

Plan to have a Speed Passion 10.5 motor if for Mod SC this weeks race.

Ordered a LCD program box for the Speed Passion GT2.0 esc. This is so I can add some "Boost" in 17.5 Stock SC class.

Tested the XXX-SCT for about five laps.

Not happy, so I parked it. Cause I wanted to race in Stock SC class.

SC10 :-)

Had a little push in the corners, moved 1 oz of weight from the rear to the front. That was a GREAT improvement BUT need a bit more balance in four of the seven corners.

Pulled the Blue RC Bible out of the pit box, to check on link options. I was looking for MORE forward traction coming out of a turn. Rear link mount at chassis, the base setting is one .030 washer under the ballstud. I had none!!!!! Added two per ballstud, one to get back to base setting and one to "Hopefully" get the forward traction that I was looking for. Can't go to far or I will be giving up side bite. Without side bite the rear will swing around, causing the car to lose speed and control.

The diff between no washers and 2 washers >> no washers missed TQ by 2 seconds, with 2 washers lapped ALL the other racer in the 10 minute main for a dominating 1st.

The SC10 was the most balanced EVER!!!

So, I took everything out of the SC10 and put it in the XXX-SCT for next weeks race!

Plan to race the SC10 in Mod SC class so the Castle esc and motor will go in.

Stock SC, John and I got owned as Rachael beat us across the start/finish line on lap 1 in the 8 minute A-main. A half a lap later John and Rachael bumped each other I got past them and I lead to the finish!!!

Mod SC, qual'd 7th finished 4th. That's all that I can remember.

Tested the T4 with a Speed Passion Inspire 2.0 esc with a EzRun 9 motor. Hey it's only a half a turn more of a motor than the esc is spec'd out as!!! Had to turn the throttle down to 90% (Max is 150%) on the Spekturm radio! Testing was FUN but I needed to get one of the SC's ready!

SC10

Speed Passion GT2.0 esc and a Speed Passion 10.5 motor, just could NOT get the tires to stick!!! :-) Track was to cold for the calcium to fully set. Track looked good but didn't have the traction it had the two weeks before.

XXX-SCT

Had planed to race "Stock" SC class, so I loaded a Speed Passion GT1.1 esc and a LRP 13.5 motor. As stated above (SC10) the track was odd, tested all my good tires and put on the best for the 10 minute main. Turn two was hit and had a front link come loose was down a lap by the time the marshal got it repaired. By the 4 minute mark I had made the lap up on 4th place and as I passed him we touched, I hit a pipe and the right rear hub broke into two parts!!!! :-(

My third DNF (Did Not Finish) 2nd in a SC class (1 with the T4) this year!!! Not happy about that, just four races to the end of 2011!

Track was premo!!!

Ran the SC10 in the first qual, VERY NICE. Have the NEW Speed Passion GT 2.0 esc and the Novak 13.5 motor in it. Good speed and GREAT handling. Only setup change was the move of the rear shock to the top shock mount to the "0" hole.

Ran the XXX-SCT in the second qual, was surprised by how well it handled!!! The only change was the removal of the front sway bar and the installation of a rear sway bar!

Remember I was having diff gear problems and have changed to a metal diff gear, two weekends and NO diff problems. Had the Castle Sidewinder SCT esc and 4600 motor in it.

Choose to race the SC10 in the a-main, qual 9th. By turn two I was 5th, turn three I was 12th :-( By lap 4 I was in 8th, just behind 5th, 6th and 7th when we tried to pass a couple racers. Two hit me, I hit the pipe and that remove both links (steering and camber) on the right front!!! Limped around the track to where I was, seen what was wrong, walked over to my pit took some links off the T4 truck and got back into the race with 45 sec's to the finish!! Still didn't finish last, another racer broke before I did!!

I have a pile of 6 FRIED ESC's and 3 FRIED motors in the past year! :-(

BUT :-), the Speed Passion GT 2.0 has been replaced under sellers warranty, last week SWEEEET!!!

Decided to have another look at the two Castle esc's. The led won't lite on the Sidewinder esc STILL so I'm guessing its really and truly DEAD!

Tried the Sidewinder SCT and it would take a PC link programing. << HOPE rises!!

Put it in the AE SC10 and it would not program to the radio!!! As I was looking at the esc/motor in the SC10, I remembered that you can switch the wires going from the esc to the motor to reverse the direction of the motor. Ding DING DING The radio throttle control maybe set to the wrong direction. Changed the setting and BINGO the esc is working!! The esc WAS in the Losi XXX-SCT and was set for that SC.

That makes only 4 FRIED ESC's and 3 FRIED motors.

Picked up a Speed Passion Cirtix Insire 2.0 as a backup, now have MORE esc's than RC trucks!!!

Avid bearings has QUICK shipping, received 3 sets of motor bearing in 3 days. All my motors are ready to go! :-)

Did some testing and like what I had to work with. :-)

BUT, choose to change the body and tires to make it a J82 buggy.

With the Speed Passion GT1.1 esc and Novak 13.5 motor installed the J82 was a SWEEET buggy made the A-main qual 7th. Got passed by 1st, 2nd and 3rd about every 3rd-4th lap!!!!

Forgot to look at the results to see where I finished!

Esc and motor was just JUNK!!!

Installed a Corelly MMN3 esc and a 19x2 spec motor, they had NO speed!!

Parked it!

Installed a Novak Dually esc and a 14x2 mod motor, this was one fast SC!!!! :-)

Noticed about minute 5 of the 6 minute qual the SC10 was slowing down, hoped that the motor was OK! 40 sec's to go and there was NO go from the motor. Put new brushes in and thought I was good to go!!! 2nd qual by the 2 minute mark I was dead on the track. Took the motor out of the XXX-SCT, replaced the brushes and installed the motor.

Was in 1st place in the SC Mod B-main by a half a lap when the motor FRIED!!!

Been to meany years of brushless motor gearing, forgot how to gear a brush motor, powered by a lipo battery! :-(

Got the SC10 out to prep for Sunday race at FZRC, the Castle Sidewinder esc was dead!!! Worked fine last Sat, 6 days ago!!! :-( that 6 esc's now!!!!!!!

Got the alum diff gear Thursday and the CR outdrives today, so it's DIFF rebuild time!!! Hopefully the last time for a while, like more than two weeks!!!!!

Because the Speed Passion esc died for the Losi I have a Corally esc and a 19x2 brush motor in it.

Because the Castle esc died I have a Novak Dually esc and a 14x2 brush motor in it!!!

Have the OLD Speed Passion GT1.1 esc and Novak 13.5 motor in it, HOPEFULLY it won't die this weekend!!!

First Saturday race ever!!! :-)

Picked up a Speed Passion GT 2.0 esc installed it in the T4 tested fine Thursday night, as I turned it on today it SMOKED!!!! :-(

Raced the SC10 today missed TQ by 3 seconds in Mod SC class. Was in 1st by mid 1st lap, 2nd at the line. 1st at the line on lap two, got passed as I hit a pipe and NEVER got closer than 6-8 foot to 1st after that. At the seven minute mark 3rd got by as I tried to pass 8th, 9th and hit a pipe!!!!!!

In one year have had 5 esc's die!!!!! NOT a good thing!!!!

Installed the Castle Sidewinder esc and 4600 motor in the Losi XXX-SCT, reason for this is the Speed Passion GT1.1 esc and Novak 13.5 motor isn't POWERFUL enough at FZRC! They where GREAT as a test last Sunday at FZRC, now for POWER!!!! :-)

Installed the Speed Passion GT1.1 esc and Novak 13.5 motor in the SC10, may change the motor to a Fantom 17.5 to better fit Stock SC class, there were TWO adults in Stock SC last Sunday at FZRC.

SC10

Was sweet, KINDA!!!! FZRC track crew put calcium on the track surface Sat night AND the track surface wasn't ready at 8:15am when I put the SC10 on the track for a test!

Needed some SUN to burn (dry) the surface in.

Planned to race the SC10 in the first qual and the XXX-SCT in the second qual then race the best in a main.

Parked the SC10 before the qual's!!!!!!!

XXX-SCT

Remember I removed the Losi trans and installed a Associated trans.

TESTING was GREAT! Adjusted the front and rear camber, moved some weight from the front to the rear. Found a set of Proline Calibers (M4 rubber compound)that I had "Sauced" with belt dressing. The XXX-SCT was the MOST neutral handling RC I have ever drove!!!!

It took me 3 minutes of the 2nd qual to see how hard I could drive it, missed the A-main by 7 sec. So I TQ'd the B-main and lead for 4 of the 6 minutes. I was passed just a lap AFTER I passed 3rd, so I knew I would bump up to the A-main.

Started the A-main in 10th, was in 4th at the 6th corner of the first lap when 5th - 8th ran over me coming out of 6th!!!! Crossed the timing line in 9th and it took 10th five minutes to catch and pass me! :-)

Team Holly Rollers member Scott and I have been trying to meet for about four months. On the drivers stand waiting to start the 2nd qual another racer (Jeff) introduced himself and Scott was standing next to him. I didn't know Scott was there and he didn't know I was there until then.

As I was restocking Scott's supply of THR stickers, he told me about Jeff. :-) Scott has been showing the LOVE of Jesus with Jeff and he is now back in church, where Dad go's so does the family!!! :-) As I was talking with Jeff his son, Corey, came up to use, I know Corey as we have raced each other in Stadium Truck and SC. Jeff asked how he could be a part of THR. I carry a copy of the 7? and a bag of stickers with me when I go to a track to race. When Jeff asked what stickers Corey wanted on his RC's, he said GREEN AND it was about time they where members!!!

Had a thought, took the trans out of the T4, after 4 hours the trans was mounted in the Losi! Did some >> in front of the house << testing. Seems to be OK but will find out 9/30 (FIRCC) or 10/2 (FZRC).

As I have stated before, I WANT TO RACE THE SC10!!!

The SC10 just has NOT been the SC to race at FIRCC in the past! By the end of practice the diff was gone in the Losi XXX-SCT AGAIN!!!!!

Put the Castle esc and motor in the SC10, changed the tires from the Losi to the SC10 also. Got a couple laps in before the first qual. Qual in 4th, lost both body clips during the second qual about two laps in, stopped to get one clip on so the body wouldn't lift on the jumps. Was only 6 sec's slower in the 2nd qual than the 1st even with the body mount stop!!! SWEET!!!

Missed the A-Main by 6 sec's!!!! S*****d body clips! :-(

Fourth lap into the B-Main driving away from 2nd, a right wheel axle pins broke into three parts. I have my FIRST DNF for the year!!!!

The Losi XXX-SCT will be put on the shelf as I can not keep putting out the $$$$$ for diff/trans rebuilds every two weeks!!!

Two weeks a go FZRC removed the FL black sand dirt and replaced it with RED clay!!

Wasn't sure IF that was a wise change, until today!! They got the GOOD clay! :-)

Have the correct front tires and the absolute WRONG rear tires on today!!! But they where the ONLY tires I have!!! Finished 4th in ST class! :-)

SC10

Drove well during practice BUT the 13.5 wasn't enough motor for Mod SC class, so I parked it!

XXX-SCT

Put the best tires I have on the Losi and changed some of the setup (removed everything I put on from the RC Driver mag setup). Got a look at the TQ racers SC10 and made changes to the XXX-SCT!!! Added 1 and half oz of LEAD to the front and 2 oz to the rear. The SC settled down and drove SWEET!!!!! Sweet enough to finish just .003 of a sec behind 5th! Started in 7th and was in last (9th) at turn three!

Picked up a NEW set of JConcepts Carvers to replace the 6 month old set of Carvers I have been using!!!

Another diff re-build!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The idler gear scooped out a section of four/five teeth of the diff gear!!!

Checked Losi site for a BETTER diff gear, there is NO SUCH THING from Losi!!!

I've raced AE trucks since March 2004 and re-built there diff's only once or twice a year!

Installed a MMN3 esc and a 17x2 brush motor in to have a try at Stadium Truck class. During practice never got the motor temps below 200 degrees!!! Anything over 170 degrees after 5 minutes of running is VERY BAD!!! Parked it for the night! :-(

The new (used) Castle Sidewinder SCT is dead!!! Died sometime as I removed it from the SC10 to install the Castle Sidewinder last Fri night at FIRCC!!!!! :-( How I did that, I don't know!!!!

FIRCC (Plant City)

Received the new (used from R/C Tech) Castle 4600 motor and Castle Sidewinder SCT esc a week ago. Remember I put these into the SC10 for last weeks race at FZRC. Tested and tested and tested at FIRCC before the first qual. I REALY want to race the SC10. Played with the rear shocks, front shocks, front springs, tires and gearing. Motor seemed to have a bog from the start for about a foot and a half, reason for a LOT of gearing testing! In the dirt last Sunday, this wasn't so noticeable as it was on carpet.

The lap times for the SC10 with the Sidwinder SCT just wasn't good. Mid 17 sec was the best for the night, need at least mid 16 sec to be in the A-main!!! Took the Sidewinder (not a SCT version) out of the T4, installed it in the SC10 and was in the high 16 sec in two laps!!!!! Didn't have time to test the setup before the first qual :-(. Drive-ability was real bad, everything I did to get the SC10 to handle with the SCT didn't work with the Sidewinder. Rear was over rotating coming out of the 90 degree turns or the front would push out in the 180 degree turns!!! Qual'd 5th out of 5!! :-(

Got the Losi XXX-SCT out put the tires off the SC10 on, TQ'd the 2nd qual for a 6th place start in the A-main! :-) Was in first just one foot from the timing line on the first laps, crossed the line 3rd after catching the pipe at the line!!! Finished 4th SWEEEET!!!

XXX-SCT

Loaded the Speed Passion GT1.1 esc and Novak 13.5 motor on the XXX-SCT. Tested well, decided to race the first qual with this.

SC10

Loaded the new Castle Sidewinder SCT esc and Castle 4700 motor on the SC10. After talking with my brother Rick. Put Losi orange shock pistons and springs on the front and Losi red shock piston and springs on the rear! This created one Sweet turning SC!!!

Decided to race this in the 2nd qual, then race the one I liked in the main!

Was listed 6th with the Losi XXX-SCT, but after the 2nd qual with the SC10 I was starting in 4th! Sweet!!!

Now comes the rant!!!!! :-(

Was 3rd into the 2nd turn, two orange SC's hacked me into 7th and one hacked me lap after lap after lap, by the time I got clear of him (don't know if it was just one of them or they took turns!) I was two laps down! Then 1st passed me on the last lap to put me down 3! I was able to get a 5th, just a foot or two behind 4th!!!

Worked with Jim to better mount his new Slash body. We both got a couple hot dogs/drink and sat in my pits to talk about the RC hobby! Jim then went out and finished 1st in the Mod SC B-main, so he bumped up into the A-main with me! Jim finished on the same lap as me in 6th.

Wanted to race the SC10, WANTED IT BAD!!!!!! :-)

After four practice sessions, moved to the XXX-SCT!!!!

20 foot into the 4th practice the Castle Sidewinder SCT esc died in the SC10!!!! :-(

Had fast enough 1st qual to put me into the A-main, 5th starting place. After the 2nd qual I was still in the A-main but will start 8th!

6 of the 8 in the A-main were ex-Farmers racers! Very SWEEEET!!!

Started 8th finished 8th, ANY time you make the A-main where ever you finish it's SWEEEET!!

FIRCC did a redesign of the off-road track, keep the cross over, added a LONG back straight. John (the designer) wants MORE space for this design BUT the room is only so big!

Put the Speed Passion GT1.1 esc in with a new (used) Novak 13.5 motor that I got on R/C Tech Buy/sale section. Paid $20 shipped for the motor. :-)

Qual'd 6th, The five in front of me, I have NEVER beat unless they broke!

Was in 6th until lap 19, got by 5th and 4th and was able to hold them off for the last three laps for 4th!! :-)

After driving 62.5 miles to get there didn't get to race cause they were racn' their "series" and I had not raced any of the other "series" races. BUT the "series" racers would gladly race with us after the "series" race!!!!! Guess they didn't need the $20 to race!!

GREAT night of racn'!!!!!!!!!!!!

Had planed to race the J82 buggy, after the first qual, changed it over to the T4!!!!

90% of a setup is TIRES!!! Both rear sets that I have (for the J82) are over 50% worn out!

Broke the servo just before the start of qual #2, got on the track 1 lap down, never looked to see how far down I was at the end of the 6 minute main.

Started 5th in the 10 minute main finished 5th, 4th lapped me 2 times best I could count!!

Changed ESC and motor to Castle Sidewinder SCT and Ezrun 9.0 motor, replaced the 13.5mm stock rotor with 12.5mm Speed Passion rotor. WAY FAST!!!!!!!!!!! Mod SC class should be fun!!!!!

Associated SC10

Now has a Castle Sidewinder esc and a Fantom 17.5 motor. This was done so I can race the SC10 in Stock SC class.

Associated T4

Removed the Novak Dually ESC and Trinity Cobalt 27 brush motor, replace them with the Speed Passion GT1.1 ESC and Speed Passion 10.5 brushless motor. This is the FAST-est setup EVER in the T4 this year!!!

Seven EX-Farmers racers showed up to race tonight!! SWEEET!!!! :-)

Had the Castle Sidewinder SCT esc and Speed Passion 10.5 motor in the Losi XXX-SCT. JUST WOULD NOT TURN!!!! Did ALL the normal adjustment that I would normally do NOthing worked.

Got the SC10 out and it TURNED WORSE!!!!

Was I bummed!!!

As I sat looking at the XXX-SCT and SC10 I noticed that they where setup differently! So, I changed the Losi just the opposite that I had been doing. Moved the front shocks out at the top BINGO!!! :-)

Made the A-main started 5th and finished 5th ONLY one lap down to 1-3 places.

GREAT "DRY" night of racn'. 5 new racers to the track. 3 first time EVER to race.

Losi XXX-SCT

Removed the 17.5 motor and Speed Passion ESC, replaced them with a Speed Passion 10.5 motor and a Castle Sidewinder ESC. Was thinking I needed MORE power. Still didn't make the A-main, did TQ the B-main and after 10 laps (was in 4th most of those) was able to get past everyone to finish 1st after 20 laps!!!

Replace the Speed Passion 10.5 motor and a Castle Sidewinder ESC, that I put in the XXX-SCT with a LRP X11 7.5 motor and a Castle Sidewinder SCT ESC. WAY TO MUCH POWER!!! Just would NOT turn. BUT may just be the setup for FZRC (Sarasota) or Yupers (Lakeland).

Losi XXX-SCT
As I was standing on the drivers stand, for the Stock SC class, I looked over my left shoulder and watched 5 KIDS place their SC's on to the track and come on to the drivers stand!!!!!!! As I was beginning to step down and go change to Mod SC class a ADULT stepped on to the drivers stand! TQ'd both qual's and finished 1st, 2 laps ahead of the other ADULT, in Stock SC.

Race director called me out just before the start of the main. Said I should start last to give the KIDS a even chance. Moved to the rear of the start order, by turn 5 was in 3rd, by turn 6 was in 2nd, by the start/finish line was in 1st. Drove through the pack, started in 7th, in one lap.

Looking to change to Mod SC next race!

RC10T4
Pinion gear came loose during both qual's in Stadium Truck class. So I qual'd 4th. During the main, going into turn 4 about 3 inches behind Max in 1st, 3rd hit the T4 in the left rear and knocked the top link loose, after I got the T4 and rear axle from the turn marshal, walked over to the pits. Put the bits back together and was back in the action 5 laps down!!!

There was enough time to get two laps back!!! So I finished in 4th down by three laps!!! Told Max (in 1st) that I had nothing to lose as I'm 5 laps down so stay out of my way! Wanted Max to know I wasn't going to be nice (passing anyone) making up laps.

FYI FIRCC does NOT use a "Bump Up" racing. "Bump Up" is when there is more than one main per class and the top two finishers "Bump Up" to the next main!

20 SC entries makes for 3 main! I was TQ in the B-main and lead from the tone!!! :-)
My over all (laps in 6 minutes) would have place me finishing 6th in the A-main! :-)

One racer left before the start of the mains AND IF I had known that I would have asked for a A-main start position!! BUT the race director DIDN'T know until the A-main.

A racer in ST class broke his truck, didn't have the part to fix his truck. The T4 was just sitting there, under the pit table. :-) He got one and a half lap in before the steering servo broke! :-(

Decided to use ONLY the "Peak Racing" 4800 (got it used off R/C Tech) pack as power for the day. That was the only change from what was used 4 weeks ago. TQ'd all 3 qual and won the 8 minute main by a lap!!!! Sweeeet!!!!

TQ'd the 2nd qual and lead most of the 8 minute main, lost the lead on the next to the last lap and was pushing the leader into the next to last turn and hit a pipe!!! Finished 2nd by 2 sec!!! The T4 was the ONLY BRUSHED motored truck in the class!!!!!

While on the drivers stand during practice I met James, during the day we became friends. As it was he's 2nd race ever, I seen he could benefit from some mentoring. :-) James was seeing improvements, in his cars and driving, through the day of racn'. After the racn' was done we got together and had "race driving" classes :-)!!!!

Wanted to race the T4-LL BUT broken front a-arm ended that want! A T4-LL is a T4 with lipo battery power, a new-ish thing Jan 2009. Lipo batteries were/are lighter than the NiHM batteries that we were using then. Lighter weight shock oils and spring rates where tried at CRCRC in Ohio by the AE team drivers and they won EVERYTHING!!!!!

Because of the a-arm problem I raced the SC10 in SC class made the A-main, missed 6th place by a few seconds because I crashed and a ssssllllloooooowwwwww marshal who had to to take three steps to the SC10!!!!!

Thinking the Losi XXX-SCT have proved that the diff can take the power, so I may put a faster motor in for MOD SC class soon.

Two "Make a RC Wish" ("MRCW") recipients pitted with me, both are Team Holy Rollers members also!!! :-)

Josh raced his Duratrax ST for the first time ever, he received the RC August 2010!!! He finished 4th in beginners class.

Jordon traded the Duratrax BX that he received August 2010 in for a Traxxas Rustler, the BX wasn't working like "MRCW" wanted a FREE RC to work, so they offered him a change out!!

Jordon, first race with the Rustler, he finished 2nd!!!! SWEEEET!!!

Steve had a servo go bad in his Blitz, so as he was packing up to go home. I offered T3T4 Web Service backup SC truck (SC10). Took him two qual's to beat me out of being in the A-main!!!! For one night Steve and I where T3T4 Web Service team mates AS WELL as Team Holy Rollers team mates.

I finished 1st in the B-main for Stock SC. Why wasn't I in the A-main as a bump-up? FIRCC doesn't do bump-ups!

Went to FZRC 5/21 to test and tune the SC10 and T4.

SC10

Changed the motor system to 19 turn brush motor, wanted to see how well a brush motor would work in Stock SC. Gear it right and it's SWEEEET! Gear it wrong and you fry a motor!!! Motor temp was 140 after six minutes of testing so I'm good. 160 temp is the max after five minutes if you want your motor to live!!!

Put the Castle Sidewinder ESC and Speed Passion 10.5 motor in and after 8 minutes of testing motor temp was 138 VERY SWEEEET!!!

Decided to test/tune the "Make a RC Wish" Rustler. We try to race test every RC we give away. This has a Traxxas XL5 esc and a "handout" stock (27 turn) race motor. After 6 minutes of testing motor temp was 167, changed the motor pinion from a 21 tooth to a 20 tooth and the motor temp went to 186!!!!!!!! Was going to change to a 22, BUT as I was driving to the pits I hit a post and broke some of the steering parts! :-(

First! The parts came in for the Losi!!! :-)

Signed the Losi up for Stock SC, they separated the Adults from the kids for the Qual's. Almost lapped 2nd place the 2nd time in the first qual. Raced the HPI Blitz in the 2nd qual, TQ'd that one also!!! They announced that I had the Blitz for sale!! SOLD!!!!!! :-)

Stock SC main, 2 Losi'd, 2 Blitz, 1 Slash and 2 SC10 lined up for the 10 minute main. The Losi was lapping racers by lap four, finished 2 laps in front of 2nd!!!

The SC10 was ready for Mod SC. TQ'd the 1st qual and NO ONE beat the SC10 time in the 2nd qual!!! Lap one of the 10 minute main was in front by a couple of seconds and pulling away!!! Then at lap 1 and a half, pinion slipped and removed the teeth from the spur!!!!!!! Was able to get the SC10 to the pits, changed the pinion and spur, back on the track to move up from 10th to 9th. Passed 2nd and 3rd once during that last two minutes!! So they only had 15 laps on me instead of 16! :-)

FZRC again in two weeks!!!

Florida Indoor R/C Complex in Plant City.

The XXX-SCT drove like it was on rails!! For two qual's, THEN as I was getting the Losi ready for the main!!! A CRACK in the rear T-bar!!!! As the ONLY Losi racer AND I had never broke this part before, a replacement was NOT in the house!!! :-(

Pulled the SC10 out from under the pit table and on went the Losi front tires, changed the throttle settings on the Spektrum DX2s radio to better fit the race needs.

Started last as I didn't qual the SC10, by turn three and until the end of the ten minute main the SC10 was in 1st and pulling away!!!

Florida Indoor R/C Complex in Plant City.

Very NICE carpet offroad track!!

Put the XXX-SCT on the track first, I have raced the SC10 here before. Fast down the straights and SMOOTH over the jumps! The turns is where you win or lose a race, the XXX-SCT just wasn't getting the job done!!!

Parked the XXX-SCT and got the SC10 ready to test. Had the carpet setup that worked the last time on the SC10, it turned 100% WORSE than the XXX-SCT!!!!

Changed the caster front and rear on the XXX-SCT, moved the front battery pad to the rear. NOW the XXX-SCT was turning like I needed!!!!!!! :-)

1st qual, the right rear MIP came apart. Found some forgotten MIP parts in the back of the part box. SWEEET!!!

2 qual, TQ'd that one :-)

Took three laps to get into the lead, finished 2 laps ahead of 2nd!!! Knew I had lapped him once didn't know that I had lapped him 2 times!!! :-)

The XXX-SCT drove like it was on rails!!

Had problems ALL day with the SC10! First the pinion gear wouldn't stay set, killed a spur also before the first Qual! Four minutes into the first Qual the esc started to glitch! Found out the receiver was bad! Had to race the B-main to get into the A-main. Did finish 1st in that!! :-)

A-main was 2nd on lap 3-5, then parked it on a corner post and was 8 for about 10 laps, then the esc over heated and I finished 11th. The same spot I started in!

STOCK SC

The Losi XXX-SCT was just SWEEEEET!!!! Passed every one BUT 1st place in both Qual's and the main, for 2nd place!!! :-)

Enough racers showed up to have two classes!! Is there a DRY spell OR what going on in the RC hobby?

After 5 - 6 minutes of track time the diff went out in the Losi AGAIN!!! :-(

Rebuilt the diff, three laps and the diff was dead AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The SC10 was just sweet!! So I put the Sidewinder esc and EZrun 9 turn motor from the Losi into the SC10. Finished 3rd in Open SC :-)

Stadium Truck was the other class that raced, finished 2nd with a 19 turn BRUSH motor!!!

All the parts came in to do a trans repair on the Losi XXX-SCT!

The EzRUN 9 turn motor was in the mail also! It's in the XXX-SCT with a Castle Sidewinder esc, VERY SMOOTH and FFAAAASSSTTT!!!!!!! :-)

The SC10 trans was dry diff balls, new balls and silicone grease fixed that!!

Re-bearinged the Speed Passion 10.5 motor for the SC10 hope to have that installed 3/16, for a bit of front yard testing.

Seems there is a Gentlemens agreement, between the SC director and the oval director) that the SC track will NOT use the oval's turns. Because we race on Sat and they race on Sun, which means they can't repair any damage in time for them to race. Seems fair, so the track gets changed Sat morning before we race! :-)

Killed the trans in the SC10! :-(

It's sitting next to the Losi XXX-SCT that is waiting trans parts also!!! :-(

Removed the crossover OR is that a crossunder!! The former track director at "WCRCC" assisted in updating parts of the track. Adjusted the track so we can use the left end of the oval track to add another CHALLANGE!!! :-)

Lil' Dover SC

Racers from FZRC in Sarasota came up for some CLAY racn'!!!

Tried to talk them into a 20 minute main!! Settled for 10 minute main! :-(

Broke before the 1st qual, TQ'd the 2nd qual and broke in the 3rd qual!!

Best I could do is try to bump up into the A-main, was in 1st for most of B-main, at the 6 minute mark was passed. Told the guy, as he was standing next to me that I'm backing off (after he passed me) to save for the A-main. DIDN'T know there was ONLY 1 BUMP UP!!!!

Got to marshal one GREAT 10 minute A-main!! They reversed the start order, so the TQ started LAST!!! Took Steve 1 and a half lap to race through the pack into 1st!!

FZRC in Sarasota, FL.

They need to stop raking the track and pack it instead! The surface is FL black sand dirt!!! Water and power packing is the only thing that will prep the track properly!!!

After two rounds of qualifing the surface was about 80% good on 40% of the track!!!

Qualified 4th and finished 4th. Had fastest lap (17.752) by .667 of a second. 4 seconds in front of 5th, 6 seconds behind 3rd!!! :-)

Talked to Marty, the owner about how to better prepare the track surface for the next race in two weeks. Pointed out the GOOD sections, the bad section and how to prepare the bad sections. He had been using a a water filled roller and he wasn't pleased with the results, just didn't know what was needed to prepare the surface better.

They had a need of a speaker for their sound system so "MRCW" provide one! :-)

Only three racers showed up today! :-(

Did a LOT of test and tune! That taught me NOTHING!!!!

Unless the track is at race level prep, is just a waste of tires!!!

"Race Level Prep" means the track has had enough watering AND car running on it to have a race-able surface.

Lil' Dover SC

Steve had the track in Premo shape!!!! Traction was high all day!!!

Got to start the mains about 45 minutes earlier than normal so, 20 minuts mains was the deal!!!

Qualified 3rd behind Richard, passed him and Steve by turn two was in last by the last turn!!!!

By lap two I was in 1st and it wasn't until lap 8 that Richard passed me. We stayed about 20-30 foot apart for the next 16 minutes. I was waiting for Richards lipo to dump, he was running a MOD motor and I had a STOCK motor. A stock motor doesn't use as much power as a MOD does. Didn't happen he still had enough power to out run me on the last two laps!!!

As we where waiting for our lipos to charge after the 2nd qualifier. Billy asked to become a Team Holly Rollers member, that makes 6 THR members at one track!!!!

FZRC in Sarasota was the place to race today!!!

Left the SC10 in the car trunk, raced the Losi XXX-SCT. Got tangaled up with some other SC's on lap two and never got back up to speed as needed to make a run for TQ in the first qualifier.

At the tone in qaulifier two I was off in a flash!!! :-) By lap two I had a 1/3 of a lap on second!! SWEEET!! Lapped every one up to third, two times by the finish of the qualifier. This put me in third postion for the A-main!!! By the 6 minute 27 second mark I was sitting in the pits with a fried motor!!! :-(

Still got a ninth out of twelve racers!!!

Lil' Dover SC, rained Thursday guess only 8 racers know the track has GOOD drainage and Steve had the track ready to race by 9:30am, when I got there!!! 8 racers! DON"T make for a race day!!!!

So, the racers that did show up, spent the times testing and tuning there trucks.

Assisted Dennis in getting his Losi XXX-SCT so he could keep up with mine!!! :-)

Had a Tekin 10.5 motor come apart last week and with info from Tekin's forum was able to reassemble the motor. Tested this today, after two laps it smoked!!! My number two motor is dead!! :-(

Richard, Steve, Javier and I decided to go over to the carpet track in Plant City, FL (Florida Indoor R/C Complex). Steve and Javier, THR's two newest members, have never seen OR raced on a carpet track. Richard has watch me race there. About 70 minutes into the afternoon, started doing "racing" classes! :-) Turn and jump theory, with application.

During the "classes", we did some "Slash" truck setups to Richards and Javier SC's. Most where learned way back when Short Course racing came to Farmers Sept/Oct 2008. Man, I some times forget that I'm THAT old and was at Farmers the night we seen a Traxxas Slash for the first time!!!

Richard and Javier after 3 - 4 batteries where turning laps only 3 - 4 tenth of a second slower then me.

Steve tried some setup changes to his Blitz, then did a couple laps better than me by 2 tenths!!!

Richard and Javier wondered if the new setups would work on clay tracks also! The only change needed will be tires to fit the track surface.

Time spent with friends AND Team Members is priceless!!!!!

"Make a RC Wish" SC Shootout

Got to the track by 6:40AM only one there!!!!! Unloaded the car with a flashlight in my mouth to see by!!!

Steve got there by 7am, checked the track, booted the computer, loaded the printer. YEA!!! the printer works!!!

7:30 out of COFFEE, just know it's down hill from here for the day!!!

Did a quick head figure of the prises we have to give away today $450 to $500, only one sponsor prises didn't get here on time BUT they can be use on normal Sat races as awards! :-)

Broke the diff in the Losi SC during the first qual! :-(
Qual 4th with the SC10 was 2nd by lap 2 by lap 15 I was in the pits with a spun left rear rim!!! For a 8th finish in Open SC.

Richard (a Team Holly Rollers member) asked me for some more THR stickers for his new body AND for a buddy be brought to the race. I asked Richard IF he could ask his buddy the ? to become a THR member.

To become a member of TEAM HOLY ROLLERS you have to agree to a few simple proclamations.
1) You must believe that Jesus is GOD and is part of the Holy Trinity (Father, Son & Holy Spirit).
2) That Jesus Died for our sins.
3) and that once Jesus was dead that He rose from the dead and ascended to heaven.
4) That you will proclaim your beliefs when asked about them.
5) That your life reflects Christ (or at least you are tring to reflect Christ)
6) That when someone is in need and you have. That you will help with the kind of love that He has shown you.

He did and Jaivier became a member, BUT as Javier was anwsering the ? Steve came up and asked to be a member!!!!!

RAIN on Friday!!! :-(

Steve was already at work draining the water from the track when I got there. Grabbed a shovel and joined in the track prep!! By 1pm the track was dry and we had one round of qual's in!! Odd thing, with the sun and wind we had to water the track for the mains!!!! 8-)

Qual'd in 2nd after three qual's! Very SWEET!!!

At the tone I bump drafted Richard (the TQ racer) about half way to turn one into the right lane pipe to move him out of my way!!! :-) By minute 4 of the 10 minute main he passed me for 1st :-( BUT at the 8 minute mark his speed control started to lipo "off" and I got by the 8:30 minute mark. He was back on the track, after a speed control reset and was behind me by about 10 foot at the finish!!!

A win is a WIN!!!! :-)

Got a XXX-SCT chassis to replace the XXXT extended chassis for the Losi SC truck, put a XXX-SCT base race setup on it with a couple changes I thought would make it better, PLUS good tires.

Drove WAY better with the new chassis. Drives like it's worth spending some $$$ on it now! So I order a rear bumper kit.

Won't be able to test or race it next week as it's "Make a RC Wish" SC Shootout weekend (1/29) and I will be busy doing car tech and running races. A VERY SWEET thing!!

New track to visit, FZRC, it's in Sarasota about 23 miles from the house. I heard it's about 350 foot run line, same as Lil' Dover SC track. They are planning to race every other Sunday. Was going to visit today BUT I stayed home, it was warmer inside.

They are racing 1/30 the day after "MRCW" SC S, figuring that I will be done in after my duties on the 29th that I will miss that one and try for there first race in Feb!!

Lil' Dover SC

Hard day of racn' WORE ME OUT!!!

1st qual at the 3 minute mark, the SC10 started acting odd!!! NO power in a right hand turn, about two feet after a turn I had full power!!! Parked the SC10 to check it out!!

As I was checking the slipper I noticed the lift axle was spinning in the wheel rim!! GREAT I thought, another ruined rim! It was just a busted axle pin!!! :-)

Qualified 2nd, drove way over my head, lost 2nd was lucky to keep 3rd!!!

At Lil' Dover SC tring to fine tune my drivers meeting skills. :-)

Had planed to race just one class BUT they needed another truck in Stadium Truck to make a class. Takes 3 to make a class. By the start of the first qualilfier there were two electric and two nitro truck in the class!

At the tone GO!!!! Was the last one to go at the tone, was in first after the first turn both qualifiers and first by the second turn in the main!!! The GT2-SC drove wonderfully and was still running at the end of each qual and main!!! VERY SWEEET!!!

Had the TQ in Mod SC with the SC10 by 5 seconds until the 2nd qaul and Richard topped me by two seconds.
:-( < cause I lost the TQ BUT :-) cause Richard is a Team Holy Rollers member!!!!

Dennis and I tangled about 20 foot into the main, he got to the first turn in last place. By lap 5 he was in the lead and I was 3rd (of 8 trucks). That is how we finished with Dennis also lapping me with two minutes left in the main.

The turn out was so big they had to seperate the Open SC's from the Stock SC's!! <<< That is just SWWWWEEET!!!

TQ'd Open class, got marshaled out of contending for 1st and 2nd!!! BUT 3rd will do, tell next week!!! :-)

Giving up on the Losi XXX-SCT, works GREAT during practice, finishes in last in each qualifier raced. Get the SC10 out, same tires on the same track conditions and I TQ!!!! Go figure!!!!

Great day of racn'!!!

TQ and finished 1st in Ele Stadium Truck!!!

Had TQ in Ele SC until the 2nd qual and Ronnie bested me by 3/4 of a sec!!!

During the 2nd qual as I was jumping up on to the table top the WIND (it was 25 mph) caused the SC10 to bank to the left like a airplane and landed on to the berm of a turn like I had planed it!!!

Main I was 2nd coming out of the turn two, the pack ran me down by turn three :-) was seven by turn turn four, 2nd by turn 6! Had a back marker jump out of his lane and turned me and I never got close to Richard to take 2nd back!!

Did a SC10 setup comparsion to the XXXT-SC setup. Wanting a "Stock" or "Open" class option. From center to side of truck, there are some shock and link mount differences BUT not as much as I thought there would be.

Adjusted the XXXT-SC to the SC10 setup as close as the mount options allowed, tested on my "yard" track. WHAT a DIFFERENCE!!!! The rear isn't looping out like it did with the setup I had on it!

Hope to do some qualifier testing 12/26/10, IF it passes, I'll leave the SC10 in the car and race the XXXT-SC in the main!

Lil' Dover Short Course

Steve (race director) and I worked on getting the Losi XXXT-SC setup to race today. By the end of practice I thought the Losi was ready to race!! After the first of three qualifiers I parked the Losi and got the SC10 out. Missed TQ by 3 seconds :-(

BUT finished first in the 10 minute main with over a half lap lead on second.

Didn't race the T4 or the GT2-SC, to cold and the lipo batteries where charging very slow (lipo batteries don't like the cold).

Went to IL to see Dad and Mom, hoped to do some carpet or slot car racn' BUT with 5 inches of SNOW!!!! Was in NO hurry to get out into that so I just stayed in and enjoyed a LOT OF COFFEE!!! :-)

Lil' Dover SC

My step-son Tom went with me to race off road for the first time. He has ran off road RC's before, just in the yard or driveway never on a race track! He did well 4th in 2wd Ele truck, he got to watch me TQ and finish 1st in that class.

Richard and I were fender to fender for about 4 minutes in the Open Ele SC class for 1st, then the motor pinion on my car let loose. Still had enough laps to finish 6th out of 9 cars.

As the starter called "GO" in Nitro SC, I pulled the trigger and my SC-GT2 took off, literally it took off, the battery pack died and the throttle stuck wide OPEN!!!!!!!!!!!! A fellow racer grabed it and shut the motor down!!! Still got a 5th :-) out of five cars!!!

GREAT day of pit work!!!! Bearing went in the left rear hub of the SC-GT2. Seems I've forgotten how to tune a nitro engine, turned the high and low speed screws every way but into the trash can!!! Still finished 4th in Open SC class.

Rebuilt 13.5 motor in the SC10 choose to NOT get along with the Novak esc, so in went a different motor. Hope the new bearings come in soon for the LRP 13.5 motor (my favorite motor for the SC10). At the seven minute mark of the ten minute main the Deans connector came UN-soldered from the lipo so I was done!!! The Novak 6.5 Light motor smells like it's history!!! BUT :-) had enough laps in to finish 4th!

Had one of those DUMB day's!!!

Thought the trans (idler gear) striped, changed trans from the T4 into the SC10. Got everything button up as the call for everyone to check in for the first qual!!! Put the SC10 on the track and NO go!!! Checked the trans, as the first qual started, everything looked good!!! Then I saw the spur was toothless!!! The problem the whole time!!! :-(

Got on the track, finished with 5 laps. That was enough to know the setup changes wheren't working.

Lap 2 in the main I ripped the end off of the left CVD, no drive so I marshaled the rest of the race.

SC-GT2 was sweet had the lead as we came out of the last turn on lap one when three 4wd SC's jumped me, by the time the marshal had cleared the pileup I was last!!!! :-(

Was able to drive my way back through the pack for a 4th.

Put a AE 15 engine in place of the OS 12, thinking a RTR motoer would be a better fit to the SC track. Could not get it tuned corrctly, run great for about five laps then would bog, so I'm putting the OS back in!

Bob did a redesign of the left end, adding 50 foot to the run line.

Lil' Dover Short Course

Was looking good for a TQ and 1st, THEN Larry showed up!!!!!

He has gotten a handle on off road racn'!!!! :-)

Larry and Richard had a good lead on me AND PULLING AWAY!!! The sun caused some sweating of my forehead and the sweat got into my left eye, then my right, I was LUCKY to keep 3rd place!!!

Broke the SC-GT2 during practice, so that wasn't raced!!! :-(

FIRCC

Did a three lap test of the Novak esc, that was the only change to the SC10. WAY to much power!!! Took the Novak 6.5 Lite motor out and installed a Tekin Redline 10.5 motor. Still had to much POWER!!!! Was going to change AGAIN to a smaller motor (Speed Passion 13.5) until I found out I was already running the smallest motor compared to the other racers!!!!

Had the motor sensor wire come un-pluged two time and once from the esc!!! I've NEVER had this problem before!!

About minute 4 of the ten minute main, I JUST touched a corner pipe and broke the steering servo arm into, so NO steering. BUT I got to watch "The Chad" try for a track record of amount of laps in 10 minutes, racing traffic slowed him down :-(

As I was parting out the Speed Passion GT 1.1 esc, I found the white wire that hooks the esc to the receiver was broken 8-)

Replaced the receiver wire bundle, did a test >>> It's alive!!! IT'S ALIVE!!! IT'S ALIVE!!!!!!!!!

The "New" (used) Novak SC esc should be in the mail box tomorrow (Monday). Which ever of the two esc has the best spec's will go into the SC10 and the other into the J82.

Lil' Dover SC

I have NEVER seen so many 4wd NITRO SC's in one place in my life!!!! And, I got to race with them with the SC-GT2!!! Finished 4th, had 2nd until I jumped into a drain pit!!! Was able to get back by one 4wd nitro SC before the tone!!!

TQ'd the ele SC class and lead from turn two to the finish, lapped everyone but ME!!!! :-)

Qual in 4th, was pushing the racer in 1st by lap two and push hard for two minutes before I landed a jump wrong and I never was close to him again! Finished 2nd :-)

Lil' Dover SC

Three classes today :-) 2wd, 4wd and NITRO!!!

The track crew is learning just how mush water to put on the track, they where 99.9999999% perfect!!

TQ'd 2wd SC class and ran away with the win after the 2nd place racer's battery dumped at the 6 minute mark!!! I'm sure he learned his leason >> Lipo or loser!!!

Got to race the GT2SC, not just race a qual', didn't matter IF I won cause I was with a Jato and a Losi 1.0 buggy converted to SC. The Jato didn't make it to the main, so the other racer and I just had fun racing NITRO SC!!!!

Lil' Dover (LD)

Some of the racers that raced at Farmers came to race, they ALL looked good in the rear view mirror as I finished 1st!!! :-)

Was GOOD to see some of the racers I have raced with the past two+ years!!!

Lil' Dover is one of the few tracks I know of that can be raced in either directions, did this today first two quals where counter-clock wise the 3rd qual and main was clock wise!!! Glad I practiced racing clock wise!!!

First race for this NEW track, they have a nice dirt oval. Now they have a offroad track on the inside of the oval.

Raced the SC10 in the 1st qual, had a bit of a handling problem >>> didn't have all the carpet offroad setup changed to clay offroad! Still was able to TQ the qual!! :-)

Raced the SC10-GT2 in the 2nd qual, was 7 sec faster :-) TQ'd that qual also!!!

Lined up at the rear of the pack so I could drive though the field and to get the 1st place trophy. At the 1/2 way of lap one, I hit a pipe and drove for four laps with only one front wheel steering! Got a guy to pit my truck and re-attach the link. Then I seen the left front was a LOT closer to the track than the right. Shock bolt came loose and the shock wasn't hooked to the a-arm so I had limited right hand steering!!! Still finished 2nd!! :-)

FIRCC Grand Opening for the OffRoad carpet track!!!

Got a SWEET carpet setup for the SC10!!! Didn't do me much good towards getting one of the four trophies that was available. Jeff, Greg and Paul showed up AND didn't break!!! I have NEVER beat these three at any time unless they broke!!!!!!!!

BUT a 5th isn't bad with those three in front!!

Got home by 2:15AM!!!!!!!!!!!! Lil' Dover races at 12 Noon just over 8 hrs from now!!!

Visited Lil' Dover for a GT2SC test for next weeks race. Learned a lot, like CHARGE the receiver battery!!!!!!!

When I got to FIRCC, went around back and cleaned the clay off my shoes from Lil' Dover!! :-)

Did some rear link and shock mount testing so I think I good for next Fri's Grand Opening!!!

Back in 2004 I got a AE 12L on road car that I run a bit on the street in front of the house. Took this to FIRCC, did a bit of carpet testing. They had changed to Oval for next Sat racing, so I wasn't able to test right turns!!! :-)

A racer told me to put some "Tire Sauce" on the tires, I told him I didn't want to ruin my 5 year old tires!!! He couldn't believe they where that old and STILL worked so well!!!!!!!

I thought I was doing OK being I had never drove a on road car on carpet, then a fast racer got on the track and was lapping me two times per my one lap!!!

Lil' Dover is at the very early steps of track construction. Dirt is in rough jumps and table top, with some tuning they should be ready to race in a week or two.

Florida Indoor R/C Complex (FIRCC) is ready NOW!!! Raced there tonight, first time on carpet SWWWWEEEEEEEEET!!!! The race setup wasn't that much diff then racn' on clay!! They have a onroad track and an oval all carpet :-)

How did I do? Traction was so high, destroyed a spur gear and blew a rear tire off the rim, in the qual's.

One New and one kinda New tracks!!! SWEEEEEET!!!!!!!!!!!

In Plant City, FL a indoor (AC'd) carpet offroad track is opening 9/3/10 with a "Garnd Openning" in about two weeks!!

Waiting to see IF I work and how late Friday before I decide IF I'm going.

Lil' Dover is adding a offroad section inside their dirt oval! They are planing to race Saturday's!

IF I go to Plant City Friday, Lil' Dover is on the way so I may stop and have a look.

On the brighter side :-)

Read a "How I Did" a Associated GT2 into a SC10-GT by Greg Vogel in RC Short Course Driver issue by RC Driver mag. I went another way of doing this, he got a prototype chassie made, I just build a extention to the front, between the steering servo and the fuel tank.

Waiting for body mounts and some other bits to finish the build so I can get some pictures and do some testing on the track. Should be ready for some Smoky and Noisy MOD Short Course racing in a few days!!

GT2 is nitro powered so it will be >>>> Smoky and Noisy!!!!!!!!!!!!!! VERY BIG >>> :-)

RAIN!!!! Everywhere BUT at the track!!! :-)

GREAT 12 minute SC main.

Chris passed Mike and I was we bounced around a bit on a double!!! Closed up to Chris in the moguls, passed him on the inside and held my line into the chicane, Chris hit a pipe and broke!! Mike got by me at 9 minute mark then he touched a pipe and had a ball cup come loose and I cruise to VICTORY!!!!

SWEEEET night on racn', the clay at Bartow is just enough different from the clay at Farmers that I'm having a hard time getting the setup correct on th SC10!!!!!!!!!

Now they are getting NEW clay, so we are starting from square one in a few weeks!!!
